Yeah, that’s a long title. Sometimes after dinner I need a snack and something to hit my sweet tooth. When I’m feeling chocolate, I usually make some sort of chocolate smoothie. This year, Orgain released their Chocolate Coconut Plant Based Protein Powder and I have been dying to try it. I just got it in and I could not WAIT it smelt so delicious.
On the side of each bottle Orgain usually puts a smoothie or shake suggestion. I HAD to try the one listed on this bottle. It is similar to smoothies I usually do to satisfy my sweet tooth, but this one was so good.
Chocolate Coconut Banana Almond Milk Protein Smoothie!
- 1 Frozen Banana
- 1 spoon of Almond Butter (I use Trader Joes Raw Almond Butter)
- 2 rounded scoops of Orgain Chocolate Coconut Protein Powder
- 8-12 oz of Unsweetened Almond milk
I put everything in my smoothie blender in the order listed above. I hate when the powder gets stuck to the bottom.
Frozen Banana Tip: When my bananas would ripen, I use to just throw them in the freezer. I had like 8 full bananas in there recently and already used 3 to make banana bread I only ate half of it. I don’t know if you have ever tried to chop up a frozen banana, but peeling it is the most annoying thing. I know a lot of skins of fruit have key nutrients in them so I decided to look it up. I read this article and it says that the skin contains extra potassium and filling fiber. So, I chopped up my banana with the skins and keep them in a freezer safe bag in my freezer!
