My 2021 Book List

My goal of 2021 was to read 6 books, and I’m proud of myself because I read 11. I was in school for basically 9 years straight while working full time so leisure reading wasn’t really a thing. It is something I like to do when I find a good book and last year I dedicated myself to hitting that 6 book goal. With the help of amazing suggestions from friends I was able to EXCEED that goal! I am so proud of myself:)

This year, my goal is 10. I had a lot of extra time around the holidays to fit in a few books and I have a busy summer coming up so I wanted to set something attainable. I wanted to do this post a few months ago but life happens. I wanted to make sure I got these books out because I got some good ones! You can shop these books on my LTK!

First Books I read of last year were both of Drew Barrymore’s Autobiographies. Her story is amazing! Little Girl Lost was written when she was a teen, pretty fresh going through all of her addition and family struggles. Wildflower was written as an adult, after she became a mom and talks about some of the events she experienced as a child through her adult eyes. HIGHLY recommend.

I am OBSESSED With these series. It is a series about a family that fled Cuba when Castro came to power and the impact it has had on their lives. Honestly, it’s a combination between a Love Story, Coming of Age, Historic Fiction, and Suspense. I may be wrong, but I think (and hope) she is coming out with a Third book!

Both of these are books that are now MOVIES! I have yet to watch either movie, but I loved the books. Still Alice is a moving story about a woman with Althzimers, but from her perspective. There is so much support out there for families of Althzimers Disease, but not much is shown from the perspective of someone going through these changes. The Hating Game is a SAUCY romance novel that will keep you reading about a love/hate work relationship.

Sorry for the quality of these pics, but the Bergman Brother’s Novels are AMAZING. Super hot and heavy, but a romance novel that is REAL – none of this hallmark channel BS. It covers the Bergman family with real problems and real relationships. These are the first two books of the series, there are 4 in total and the 5th one comes out this summer!

These two are Romance Novels that will keep you in suspense. You honestly never know which way it will turn. Ugly Love could be a trigger for parents who have lost children – Thats all I will say with out giving away the entire plot line. The last MRs. Parrish may be a trigger for those who have experienced Domestic Violence. THATS ALL I AM GOING TO SAY!

I usually try to get some Personal Development in Each year, but this was the only one I got in, haha! Either Way, Marie Kondo is AMAZING and honestly it helped me deep organize my Studio apartment. Its also a very easy read. My next one is going to be SparkJoy!

I won’t publish my next book list until at least July, maybe not till the end of the year, Not sure! I did want to highlight one eco friendly program I love to use, Thrift Books! They give you access to old library books – less books printed, the planet saved! I personally love the feel of holding a book in my hands and am having a hard time getting into kindle reading, but that’s the most eco friendly option!

If you have any good suggestions for me this year, please drop them in the comments below!

2019 Amazon Round Up

So I drafted this post over a month ago and life has just gotten CRAZY! I was taking time off to myself after grad school and focusing on work as I was working on a big project and it is finally complete resulting in a PROMOTION!!!

Now that that is over and I am feeling refreshed, here is a post I should have done at the very end of the year… only a month late.

I use amazon for almost everything as most of us do. When I moved into my place and as I have continued to settle in i started ordering a tone of stuff for organization and decor. I also follow a tone of bloggers that get a shit ton of  beauty and clothes off of Amazon.

Organization Items

I may be a hot mess and have shit all over my apartment, BUT it all has a place. I love organizing because it makes it so much easier to put things away! During the week I pretty much come home, drop everything, do homework when I was in school, then go to bed – hence why my apartment is a disaster.

ANYWAYS- There are a few items I absolutely love that help organize all my shit. I have like 50 pairs of shoes, and didn’t know what to do with them in my new closet. I orders a Boot Rack and this over the door hanger!

Also, this so handy to organize all my make-up organizer. I don’t wear make-up regularly, but I do like wearing it on a nice night out or special occasion. I did Ipsy for a while so  I have a tone of samples, this just keeps everything organized. Also, I only do laundry like twice a month because I am lazy lol, so I have multiple Laundry basket. I have one in my closet and one in my bathroom, this Narrow Laundry Basket  makes it easy for me to pick up all the clothes I just throw on the ground easily and doesn’t take up a tone of space.

Tech

I don’t know about you, but when I spend over $800 on an iPhone, I am going to make sure that I do everything in my power to protect it. I have used this brand of Glass Screen Protector for years and it has saved my life several times. ALSO, my first day having my apple watch I scratched it. This Apple Watch Protector

is one of the best purchases I have ever made, and it is only $8. I have the iPhone XR in yellow, so I didn’t want to hide the color- this clear Phone Case is gelly and super protective. I drop my phone ALLLL the time and it’s been good so far!

Beauty

Now. We all want to keep our hair from breaking skin flawless. I am so happy I have purchased the following items, they have changed my life. I bought these Silk Scrunchies

to sleep in because I hate sleeping with my hair down but was finding a tone of breakage. After a tone of research and previously purchasing these Satin Pillow Cases,

my hair started improving and I decided to get these scrunchies – they work, plus they are super cheap. The satin pillow case also helps your skin with acne and wrinkles. Plus it keeps your hair fluffy and makes the dry shampoo work easier.

I have a tone of hair and blowouts are not the easiest. I have the T3 hairdryer and curling iron, but wanted straight blow outs. I needed a good round brush and this Round Blowout Brush is it! I love it, the heat and air is perfectly distributed and I can go like 3 days between washes. Also, combined with the scrunchies and pillow cases, my hair has never felt healthier.

Home

I think that I end up getting everything for my home on amazon. If not than target or wayfair – but mostly amazon. I love being a prime member, I really do. Everything comes like the next day!

I don’t personally have this item, James bought it for Christmas with a gift card he got, but we use my amazon account for everything. He actually uses his Ninja Blender everyday to make a smoothie now that I got him into Orgain Protein Powder. It is amazing. I have the Cuisinart Smoothie Blender in White which is actually $7 off right now and on prime shipping. I did not get mine on amazon, I bought it at Crate and Barrel when it first came out.

Now time for my pride and joy… my Crockpots. Most of the recipes that I post have my crockpots tagged on them. If you saw my last post, I have two crockpots. This 4.5 Quart one and also a smaller 1 quart for sauces. I did have a 7 Quart crockpot, however one of my old roommates melted the nob, so I left it when I moved. For now, these are perfect for just me – once Jay and I move in together, I will most likely get a larger one too.

If you are a city girl like me and like to go to classes after work, this is the cutest  Yoga Mat Bag, it comes in like 1 million colors too. Super cheap, but really good quality. It has tones of pockets too to hold your keys, wallet, and phone.

#savetheturtles! I try to be as sustainable as possible which is why I bought these Stainless Steel Reusable Straws! I have half of them at my house and the other half in my desk. I try to use them everything I get an Ice coffee or a fountain soda. Best of all, they are dishwasher safe! #lazypeopleunite

We all know I love my macrame hangers I mentioned in my That Plant Parent Life post, these Plant Pots are so cute and match my decor perfectly!

THAT is a roundup of my favorite amazon finds from 2019. I have already ordered several things from amazon this year including my Robot Vacuum that I am loving and it has been less than 24 hours. I want to make this a quarterly post. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. and as always thanks for reading!!

XOXO
