Chocolate Coconut Banana Almond Milk Protein Smoothie!

Chocolate Coconut Banana Almond Milk Protein Smoothie!

Yeah, that’s a long title. Sometimes after dinner I need a snack and something to hit my sweet tooth. When I’m feeling chocolate, I usually make some sort of chocolate smoothie. This year, Orgain released their Chocolate Coconut Plant Based Protein Powder and I have been dying to try it. I just got it in and I could not WAIT it smelt so delicious.

On the side of each bottle Orgain usually puts a smoothie or shake suggestion. I HAD to try the one listed on this bottle. It is similar to smoothies I usually do to satisfy my sweet tooth, but this one was so good.

Chocolate Coconut Banana Almond Milk Protein Smoothie!

  • 1 Frozen Banana
  • 1 spoon of Almond Butter (I use Trader Joes Raw Almond Butter)
  • 2 rounded scoops of Orgain Chocolate Coconut Protein Powder
  • 8-12 oz of Unsweetened Almond milk

I put everything in my smoothie blender in the order listed above. I hate when the powder gets stuck to the bottom.

Frozen Banana Tip: When my bananas would ripen, I use to just throw them in the freezer. I had like 8 full bananas in there recently and already used 3 to make banana bread I only ate half of it. I don’t know if you have ever tried to chop up a frozen banana, but peeling it is the most annoying thing. I know a lot of skins of fruit have key nutrients in them so I decided to look it up. I read this article and it says that the skin contains extra potassium and filling fiber. So, I chopped up my banana with the skins and keep them in a freezer safe bag in my freezer!

Green Smoothies

Green Smoothies

Just sitting here in my best quarantine attire, staring out the window at the seagulls struggling in these 50 mph winds Boston seems to have latley, sipping my Green Smoothie.

Now. I have a million different versions of a green smoothie and this is only one of them. Until I come up with a better name for it then it will remain named “Green Smoothie”. I am taking suggestions below!

Y’all know I love my Orgain Protein Powder. I did A LOT of research before I took the leap and tried this brand. I am someone with a ton of dietary restrictions and this one is so good to my tummy.

I love my traditional mixed berry smoothie with vanilla protein powder, but since I am home quarantined, I’ve been trying to mix it up a bit to get as much nutrients as possible.  My recent venture is as follows:

  • 1 cup of frozen spinach
  • 1 celery stalk (or stem I don’t know what the right word is)
  • 1/2 a green apple
  • 2 scoops of Orgain Vanilla Bean Protein Powder

If you are sensitive to celery as it is harder to digest for some people, do less and add more apple or spinach. What I like about this one is you can’t really taste the celery, the powder and apple are more potent.

If you are looking for a new protein powder, I HIGHLY recommend Orgain. I have used them since 2016 and have never looked back! Use this link and the Code taygreeleyblog for 30% off your first order and free shipping. If you have ordered from them before, my code will still get you free shipping.

P.S. I decided not to edit the photos of myself because THIS is what quarantine looks like. My bed us un-made, the flowers in the background are dying,  I’ve had this sweatshirt for almost 15 years and I’ve been talking to construction superintendents all day. #liferightnow
